The Tennessee Titans football team honored fallen Metro Nashville Police Department Officer John Anderson by presenting his family and fellow first responders with the 12th Annual "Titan Sword of Honor."

According to the Tennessean, the team presented the honor prior to its most recent preseason NFL game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The agency said on Twitter that it was a "special night for the MNPD as the @Titans remembered Officer John Anderson, who died in service to our city on July 4. Officer Anderson's mother, Jennifer Hein, joined Nashville's first responders on the field as the bearer of the 12th Titan Sword of Honor."
