A 32-year-old Milwaukee Police officer died Sunday (June 29, 2025) from wounds he suffered in an ambush attack last Thursday (June 26, 2025).
Officer Kendall Corder and his partner were responding to a call about a subject with a gun when they were shot in an alley. Corder was mortally wounded. His partner was also hit. Neither officer was able to return fire, the department said in a press release.
Officer Corder was transported to a local hospital for treatment and he died from his wounds Sunday. He served with the Milwaukee PD for six years.
Corder’s 29-year-old partner was also transported to the hospital where he was treated and released for what the department called “non-fatal injuries.” He is reportedly recovering.
The 22-year-old suspect was arrested without further incident, police say.
“MPD is forever grateful for Officer Corder’s courage in the line of duty. We grieve for his family, friends, loved ones, his partner, and every member of his MPD family whose hearts are shattered by his loss,” the department said on Facebook.
Officer Corder was featured in a recent Milwaukee PD video.
