A Nebraska State Patrol officer was inside her parked patrol vehicle Monday night when it was hit by a passing truck in Omaha. The trooper’s emergency lights were activated during the collision.
The trooper was injured and taken to a local hospital, but the injuries were not “thought to be serious,” the State Patrol said on Facebook.
This is the third crash in less than two weeks involving a parked Nebraska State Patrol vehicle, according to the State Patrol.
NSP used the Facebook post to remind motorists to “move over and slow down” as they approach a crash scene.
The State Patrol also thanked the Omaha Police Department for its immediate response and the aid provided to the injured trooper.
