An officer with the Wellesley (MA) Police Department was captured on cell phone video assisting an driver who had several inches of fallen snow on their car rooftop.
According to CBS News, Officer Derek Harris pulled over a woman Wednesday for having too much snow on her vehicle, which can cause a hazard for her and other drivers.
He issued a warning to the driver and then proceeded to take a broom to the roof, knocking the snow off in an effort to keep her and others safe on the roadways.
The incident was captured on video by a passerby on her mobile phone.
Joanne Chlebogiannis said in the video, "I think it's absolutely beautiful that this police officer is taking the snow off this person's car."
She added as she passed the scene, "Good for you, officer!"
Thank you Joeanne Chlebogiannis for sharing this video with us! Joanne wanted us to know that in her opinion, Off. Derek Harris had gone above and beyond the scope of his duties yesterday during the snowy morning commute. pic.twitter.com/4SSDw2uu9v
