North Carolina Officers Seize High-End Vehicles in Street Racing Operation

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and the North Carolina Highway Patrol seized five vehicles worth $1.5 million dollars during a anti-street racing operation Friday (June 27, 2025).

CMPD said on Facebook that the seized vehicles included a 2023 Lamborghini Huracan, a 2023 Audi R8, a 2022 Lamborghini Huracan, a 2021 Ford Mustang, and a 2017 BMW 340XI. Three of the vehicles are “connected to national groups known for illegal street racing activity,” CMPD said.

Five people were arrested.

“Thank you to the state highway patrol, the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office, CMPD’s Transportation Division, Aviation Unit, Real Time Crime Center, Communications Division, Crime Reduction Units and multiple other CMPD units for their help making this operation a huge success,” the statement said.
