The group of men charged with conspiring to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer was also planning to kill police officers in their homes.

A Detroit News report says the FBI started monitoring the group in March when an informer stepped forward to warn of danger against law enforcement. The informant told the feds that the group was trying to obtain home addresses of law enforcement officers.

At that time, the FBI had interviewed a militia member worried about the group's plans to "target and kill police officers" and that person became an informant, according to the complaint.
