A Corpus Christi, Texas, Police Officer was shot in the line of duty over the weekend. He is fighting for his life in the hospital, according to NBC DFW.
Officer Kyle Hicks was responding to a domestic disturbance call at 12:32 a.m. Saturday at the. At the location a man and woman were involved in a disturbance with shots fired, Valley Central News reports.
When officers responded to the call, a 26 year-old-man was reportedly at the door and shot one of the officers.
An assisting officer shot back at the suspect, according to Corpus police. The man died at the scene.
Officer Hicks is married with four children, according to authorities.
