Oklahoma Investigator Dies After On-Duty Medical Event

Investigator Brian Herbert, 56, was on the range during annual firearms qualification when he felt chest pains and lost consciousness.

An investigator from the Osage Nation (Oklahoma) Police Department died last week following a medical event on duty.

Investigator Brian Herbert, 56, was on the range during annual firearms qualification when he felt chest pains and lost consciousness, NewsOn6 reports.

Herbert had served in law enforcement since 1995, the Osage Nation Police said on Facebook. He worked for a number of agencies in Kentucky and Oklahoma, including the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office and Oklahoma State University Police Department. He joined the Osage Nation PD in 2007.

He is survived by his wife.
