Personnel in the Colorado Springs Real Time Crime Center scanned footage from area cameras but did not locate a suspect with a rifle, police said.
Officers arrived on the scene and were told on video that there was an argument, it was a domestic, and none of the people involved wanted to report anything. The officers left.
The RTCC then saw the group returning to the nightclub parking lot and still arguing Different officers arrived on scene and tried to get the group to disperse, according to the video.
While officers on the scene were trying to get the group to disperse, RTCC personnel found video of the suspect with what appears to be a rifle in his hand walking in the parking lot. That video had a time stamp that nearly matched the 1:30 a.m. time of the 911 call, police said.
RTCC officers continued to monitor the group. At around 1:50 a.m., officers in the RTCC saw the suspect go to a vehicle and retrieve what police described as a handgun with an extended magazine that he reportedly put in his waistband.
