An Officer with the West Seneca (NY) Police Department was caught on video as he pulled a baby deer to safety after it had become trapped in a window well over Independence Day weekend.

According to WHEC-TV, the officer put on some large Kevlar gloves and began to wrangle the little fawn who was struggling mightily to evade the officer's assistance.

The agency posted on Facebook, "Officer Carr is the hero we needed but don't deserve."

The deer was eventually freed, and ran off into the woods nearby.
