Alabama Officer Fired Over Social Media Post

An officer with the Hoover (AL) Police Department has been fired by the agency after reportedly posting an image on social media showing a protester with crosshairs overlaid in the picture.

An officer with the Hoover (AL) Police Department has been fired by the agency after reportedly posting an image on social media of an image of a protester with crosshairs overlaid in the picture.

According to WBRC-TV, Hoover Police Chief Nick Derzis said that the officer's social media post "sickened him."

Chief Derzis added, that the officer's actions "did not adhere to the standards expected of every officer who wears their uniform."
