A 15-year-old Michigan teenager crashed a stolen car after eluding an officer with stop sticks and died at the scene in Niles. One officer reached speeds of 85 mph during a vehicle pursuit.

A 15-year-old Michigan teenager crashed a stolen car after eluding an officer with stop sticks and died at the scene in Niles.

Officers with the Niles Police Department initiated the pursuit after a homeowner called 911 to report that he heard his truck start and saw it driving down the street at 8:15 a.m. on Sept. 9.

The driver, later identified as 15-year-old Jazmyne Rodriguez, ignored the officers attempts to pull her over, instead accellerating and blowing several stop signs. One officer reached speeds of 85 mph, reports MLive.com.
