Sixteen Colorado sheriffs will publicly protest federal gun-control initiatives today as President Obama visits the Denver area to meet with law enforcement leaders and community members.
The sheriffs, which include Larimer County's Justin Smith and Weld County's John Cooke, will meet at Fred N. Thomas Memorial Park about a mile from the Denver Police Academy campus where the president's meeting is scheduled. reports the Denver Post.
The sheriffs will also discuss the gun-control laws signed by Gov. John Hickenlooper in March.
