POLICE Magazine produced several videos from POLICE-TREXPO West that offer a glimpse of what the show has in store for officers who attend POLICE-TREXPO East in Chantilly, Va., in August.

The videos, which have been posted to the video section of PoliceMag.com , show several valuable defensive tactics that can be used against assailants with a knife or handgun; a closer look at tactical gear for active-shooter response, barricaded suspects, and less-lethal scenarios; and an interview with TV cop Erik Estrada, who is now a reserve deputy working to halt child online sex predators.

The two defensive tactics videos include "Krav Maga Handgun Defense" and "Counter Blade: Empty Hand and Gun Draw."

In the Counter Blade video, Michael Janich of Martial Blade Concepts demonstrates the "Split-X Block" to counter an edged-weapon attack. He shows you the empty hand version, then demonstrates how to use the technique to draw your service weapon. Watch it here:

During the expo portion of the show, law enforcement suppliers brought a variety of products. We were able to get hands-on demos with "Oshkosh Defense's Tactical Protector Vehicle (TPV)," "U.S. Armor's Rifle Plate Carriers," and the "IBS Sigma JPX Jet Protector OC Launcher."

In the Oshkosh Defense video, Jack Reiff shows us around the Tactical Protector Vehicle (TPV) . The armored vehicle offers tactical teams features such as retractable skip plates, a FLIR imager, and optional sniper turret. Watch it here:
