A man with a gun outside a bar in Dayton, Ohio, touched off a brief foot chase that ended early Saturday morning with the shooting of the 21-year-old suspect and a Dayton undercover detective, according to a member of the FBI-led Safe Streets Task Force that was watching the bar for gang and narcotics activity.
"The Trotwood sergeant spotted an armed Deontay Cochran crouched between two cars in front of Leo's II as he were waiting in ambush," FBI Special Supervisory Agent Tim Ferguson said at a Monday news conference. Ferguson said three to four task force officers were keeping the bar under surveillance.
