A Peoria (Ariz.) Police sergeant under internal investigation for posting a controversial photo on Facebook has been taken off patrol duty pending a complete inquiry, Chief Roy Minter Jr. told The Republic.

The photo, which has since been removed, along with Sgt. Pat Shearer's Facebook profile, featured seven students from Centennial High in Peoria, with one holding up a T-shirt with an image of President Obama riddled with bullets.

The Facebook photo was posted Jan. 20, days before the president's visit to the area.
