A Minneapolis man who called 911 so he could "hurt some cops" has been sentenced to 17 1/2 years in prison for the ambush attack.
Marsenior P. Johnson, 39, was sentenced Friday in Hennepin County District Court for wounding Minneapolis Park Police Officers James Huber and Katherine Hammes on Aug. 21. The officers had responded to a report of a knifepoint robbery in the area of Minnehaha Parkway West at Bryant Avenue South.
Officer Huber shot Johnson as he stood over Officer Hammes and was poised to stab her again with the 4- to 5-inch blade, reports the Star-Tribune.
