Kansas SRO Called Hero for Stopping School Shooter

The wounded SRO has been identified as Officer Erik Clark. He has served the Olathe Police for 15 years and 7 as an SRO. He is being called a hero.

A school resource officer was wounded in an exchange of fire with an alleged school shooter in Olathe, KS, Friday morning.

“On March 4th, 2022 at approximately 10:38 a.m., an Olathe Kansas Police Department School Resource officer (SRO) responded to the school’s main office, in reference to an administrative matter involving an 18-year-old student.

During the incident, the student produced a handgun and shots were exchanged between the student and the School Resource Officer. The student was taken into custody. The School Resource Officer, the Administrator and the student all sustained GSW,” the Olathe Police Department reports.

All three were transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Two were released as of Friday afternoon. One remains hospitalized, KWCH reports.
