Ohio Officer Critically Wounded in Shooting

An officer with the Columbus (OH) Division of Police was shot and critically wounded during a response to a disturbance call at a home early Thursday morning.

An officer with the Columbus (OH) Division of Police was shot and critically wounded during a response to a disturbance call at a home early Thursday morning. Another officer was injured during the incident.

According to WCMH-TV, Police Chief Tom Quinlan said he is a close friend of the wounded officer and was at the hospital and spoke with him after he came out of surgery. He is expected to survive his injuries.

Another officer was injured in the incident but not shot, according to police. That officer is reportedly in stable condition.

A suspect is in custody from the home where the incident happened.

Charges are pending.

The names of the two officers injured during the incident have not yet been released.
