An officer with the Crestwood Police Department faces felony domestic battery and strangulation charges after a domestic incident that left his children thinking that their mother had stopped breathing.

According to CBS News, Officer Dino Pavoni now faces charges of felony strangulation, four counts of felony domestic battery, and interference with reporting of a crime.

The incident reportedly occurred at a camping resort early Sunday morning. Pavoni allegedly became upset after his wife woke him in the middle of the night to ask for help closing the awning on their camper, according to police reports.
