California Officer Injured by Man Resisting Arrest

An officer with the Selma (CA) Police Department was injured by a suspect who resisted arrest after being spotted with an open container of alcohol in public on Friday morning.

An officer with the Selma (CA) Police Department was injured by a suspect who resisted arrest after being spotted with an open container of alcohol in public on Friday morning.

According to ABC News, police say the man—identified as 42-year-old Jason Rosetti—was resisting arrest when he attacked the officer attempting to take him into custody.

Rosetti reportedly pulled a knife during the incident but other responding officers were able to disarm him and take him into custody.

One officer suffered injuries to his face, eye and his right knee. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was treated and released.

Rosetti was booked into the Fresno County Jail on charges of resisting arrest, battery on a peace officer, under the influence of a controlled substance, and possession of cocaine and methamphetamine.
