A shoplifting suspect is accused of striking an Ohio officer with a stolen SUV after he and a female accomplice had stolen some goods from area stores.

A shoplifting suspect is accused of striking an Ohio officer with a stolen SUV after he and a female accomplice had stolen some goods from area stores.

According to Cleveland.com the couple—identified as 25-year-old Jamal Samhan and 21-year-olod Kristalyn Marcum are charged with felonious assault, aggravated robbery, robbery, receiving stolen property, failure to comply with order, signal of police officer, criminal damaging, and petty theft.

Police said that the pair struck Officer Robert Briesath of the North Olmsted (OH) Police Department with a stolen 2020 Kia Sportage.

Briesath is back to work on light duty.
