Two officers with the New York Police Department were wounded as a gunman allegedly unleashed two brazen ambush attacks in the Bronx over the weekend.
According to the New York Times, officials called the separate attacks—one on a patrol van and one at a substation—"assassination attempts" conducted by a single individual.
The injuries to the two officers are reportedly not life threatening.
The accused gunman—identified by law enforcement as Robert Williams—was taken into custody after surrendering to officers.
