Minnesota Officer Badly Wounded In Shooting Now Beginning to Speak

Arik Matson—the 23-year-old officer with the Waseca (MN) Police Department who was shot in the head in early January—has begun to speak to family and medical staff as he continues a recovery that the pastor of a local church has called "miraculous."

According to WCCO-TV , Matson told his wife "I love you," and "Happy anniversary," on the couple’s six year anniversary.

The accused gunman—Tyler Janovsky—is being held on $3 million bond.
