An off-duty officer with the Chicago Police Department has been arrested on suspicion of assault on a uniformed officer with Chicago PD in the early morning hours on Halloween night.

According to the Chicago Tribune, officials said 30-year-old Karina Salgado was dressed as a clown as Halloween night drew to a close when she was refused entry into a bar not far from the Wrigleyville neighborhood of Chicago.

She continued to attempt to enter the premises and reportedly became agitated, so police were called.

Sally Bown—a spokeswoman for the Chicago Police Department—said in a statement that Salgado then "became aggressive and struck an officer in the face with an open hand."

Salgado has reportedly been charged with resisting or obstructing an officer, battery, and criminal trespass to property.
