During a traffic stop, an officer with the Susquehanna Township (PA) Police Department learned that the 9-year-old boy in the back seat was celebrating his birthday.

According to PennLive.com, Corporal AJ Somma had stopped the vehicle for driving with its lights off, and after determining that the lights were functional, gave the boy a fist bump and asked him if he'd like the officer to sing happy birthday.

Somma said that he saw the exchange as a way to have a positive effect on that family, adding, "I know if I impact them positively, they’re gonna tell someone."
