A man suspected of striking an officer with his car on Wednesday night led authorities on a vehicle pursuit through the Los Angeles area.

According to the Burbank Leader, Officers with the Burbank Police Department were investigating a suspicious vehicle when they contacted the driver who reportedly smelled of alcohol and appeared to be drunk.

When the man refused to provide his identification, the officers ordered him to exit the vehicle. Instead he reportedly sped away from the scene, striking one of the officers with a car door.

Burbank and California Highway Patrol officers chased the fleeing 2016 Nissan Altima for some time until the car eventually rolled to a stop.
