An officer with the Houston Police Department was wounded and a suspected gunman killed in a gunfight that unfolded Friday night after the subject reportedly fled the scene of a traffic stop.

An officer with the Houston Police Department was wounded and a suspected gunman killed in a gunfight that unfolded Friday night after the subject reportedly fled the scene of a traffic stop.

According to CBS News, police located the suspect's vehicle after receiving a tip from a tow truck driver. Police say, the man emerged from his car and refused commands to drop his revolver.

Officer Jasmine Selle was struck twice in the right arm.

Selle and two other officers returned fire, fatally striking him.

Officer Selle is expected to be OK.
