An officer with the Madeira Police Department recently rescued a fawn from an in-ground swimming pool and reunited the little creature with its mother.

The incident was captured on the officer's body-worn camera, and the footage released on Facebook over the weekend.

The department said, "The Madeira Police Department occasionally responds to reports of animals trapped or in distress. Officer Phil Mitchell recently responded to a report of a young fawn that had become separated from its mother inside a fenced swimming pool. While trying to free the fawn it fell into the swimming pool. Officer Mitchell was able to rescue the fawn and reunite it with its mother."
