An officer with the Chicopee (MA) Police Department was called last week to take a report of a stolen vehicle—a pedal car owned by a four-year-old girl that was stolen from her front yard.

The agency posted on Facebook, "Hey everyone, say hi to 4yr old Elsa. Last week someone stole her 'car' from her yard. Ofc Joe Chouinard had taken the original report. Elsa was pretty sad about it. She kept asking mom if Ofc Joe would find her car. Well, Ofc Joe, along with mom, did one better. They bought Elsa a new car."

Chouinard visited the family's home to build the little vehicle and received in thanks a hug and a box of chocolates.

The Facebook post concluded, "Great job. Enjoy the new car. And thanks for making our day better."
