The Chicago Police Department is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a man who reportedly shot and critically wounded an off-duty officer.

The Chicago Police Department is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a man who reportedly shot and critically wounded an off-duty officer.

According to Fox News, the 25-year-old officer was driving with a woman in the very early morning on Wednesday when he noticed a black Toyota following him. The couple called 911 before the gunman opened fire, striking the officer in the head. The woman was not hurt.

The officer has undergone surgery and is responding to stimuli. He reportedly even gave hospital visitors a thumbs up.

Chicago PD released an image of the suspect vehicle via Twitter, with the caption, "A $10,000 reward is offered by @cpdmemorial for information leading to the arrest and conviction of offenders responsible for Tuesday’s shooting of the off-duty CPD officer."
