The Mesa Police Association and the Mesa Fraternal Order of Police announced on Wednesday that the organizations have passed votes of no confidence against Chief Ramon Batista.

According to, officers have recently felt that the chief has abandoned them in public appeals amid a variety of scandals.

Nate Gafvert—president of Mesa Police Association—said officer want Batista to resign.

"He's no longer welcome in the Mesa Police Department," Gafvert said.
