An off-duty officer with the Cincinnati Police Department and his son sustained non-life-threatening injuries when they were shot while on a hunting outing on the first day of turkey season.

According to WCPO-TV, 52-year-old Daniel Brockmann and his 15-year-old son were shot with buckshot or birdshot.

They were transported to a nearby hospital where they were treated and released.

The offender—identified as 23-year-old Wesley Seitz—is charged with two counts of assault.
