The Massachusetts State Police said that a trooper shot and wounded a man who pointed a gun at him on Saturday night.
According to the Boston Globe, the subject—identified as 25-year-old Claude Brown-Madison—was shot in the lower body and suffered a non-life-threatening injury.
Brown-Madison was charged with armed assault with intent to murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, and several firearms violations.
The assailant's gun was recovered at the scene.
The trooper was not injured.
