2 Police Horses Struck in Melee Outside Southern California Bar

One person reportedly struck a police horse named "Chex." Another horse, named "Willa," was also reportedly assaulted.

The incident occurred at closing time in downtown as a small disturbance quickly mushroomed into a large-scale melee, prompting a significant police response. 

Individuals were charged with various counts of public drunkenness, resisting arrest, and in the case of the person accused of striking the horse, committing an unlawful act against a police animal.
