An Ohio man who is accused of setting a Portage County Sheriff's sergeant on fire Thursday night is being held on $1 million bond.
According to Fox News, 49-year-old Jay Edward Brannon faces charges of attempted aggravated murder and aggravated arson in the case. He also faces felony drug charges that led up to the incident.
According to authorities, Brannon ignited a can of flammable liquid and made threats that he would "kill the cops." He then threw the can at officers, striking Sergeant James Acklin.
Acklin was transported to the burn unit at a nearby hospital. The sheriff's office is not releasing his condition but said he suffered burns on more than 20 percent of his body.
