Philadelphia Man in Police Custody Dies of Suspected Heart Attack

The 39-year-old man was arrested for allegedly shoplifting. Authorities say there was no struggle or force used during the arrest.

Police in Philadelphia are investigating the death of a man in custody of the SEPTA Transit Police on Saturday.

The 39-year-old man was arrested for allegedly shoplifting. Authorities say there was no struggle or force used during the arrest.

SEPTA said its officers attempted CPR, used a defibrillator, and gave the man Narcan, according to ABC News.
