A manhunt is underway in North Carolina after a deputy was seriously injured after being shot during a traffic stop on Sunday night.
According to WSOC-TV, the Caldwell County deputy was struck just below his body armor. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and underwent surgery.
Officials said on Monday that he was out of surgery and in stable condition.
The suspected gunman is a reportedly white man, possibly driving a blue early 1990 model Toyota Corolla with North Carolina plates AFJ-5570. A woman, also white, was reportedly in the passenger seat.
