Conn. Officer Run Over by Stolen Car, Seriously Injured

The injured officer, identified Tuesday morning as Brett Morgan, 28, underwent nine hours of surgery Monday at a Hartford trauma center.

New Britain, Conn., police have obtained an arrest warrant for the man they believe stole the car that ran over and seriously injured a city police officer Sunday night, the Hartford Courant reports.

Police are looking for Jaheem Snype, 19, whose last known address was 259 Grove St. The blue 2011 Hyundai Sonata that Snype is accused of stealing about 10 p.m. Sunday was used 30 minutes later to hit, run over and drag about 100 feet a police officer investigating the motor vehicle theft, according to police.
