R.I. Officer Killed In Crash Responding to Disturbance

A Providence (R.I.) Police officer has succumbed to injuries he sustained after crashing his police vehicle while responding as backup to a disturbance call.

A Providence (R.I.) Police officer has succumbed to injuries he sustained after crashing his police vehicle while responding as backup to a disturbance call.

Patrolman Maxwell Dorley, a 15-year veteran, was driving west on Admiral Street at 9:22 a.m. Thursday, when he lost control of his cruiser and struck a telephone pole, reports the Providence Journal.

Patrolman Dorley is survived by a wife and two children.
