Around 7:30 a.m., pilots took emergency action designating a safe landing spot in an open field northwest of the Omaha North Airport.

The Omaha police helicopter, Able-1, is inoperable after a mechanical failure forced an emergency landing Tuesday.

Around 7:30 a.m., pilots took emergency action designating a safe landing spot in an open field northwest of the Omaha North Airport.

Officials told KETV that there were no injuries.
