An officer with the Utah Highway Patrol—who was injured when a pickup truck struck his parked patrol vehicle on an interstate highway over the weekend—has been released from the hospital and is expected to be okay.
According to Fox News, Sergeant Brian Nelson was stopped on the side of the road to investigate a crash when the passing truck lost control and slammed into the squad car.
Nelson was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The agency posted a brief dash-cam video of the incident on Facebook with the admonishment, "Another vivid reminder of the importance of SLOWING DOWN in inclement weather. And as Colonel Rapich said, 'Please, when you see emergency lights, Slow Down, Move Over, and remember there is someone out there trying to keep you safe'."
