EF Johnson To Launch ATLAS P25 Comm System at APCO

EF Johnson Technologies, Inc. will unveil its new ATLAS P25 Systems Solution at the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International Conference and Expo from Aug. 7-9 at the Philadelphia Convention Center in Philadelphia, Pa., the company announced.
ATLAS is a Land Mobile Radio (LMR) system operating in all public safety VHF, UHF and 700/800 frequency bands. The new offering introduces simulcast capability for both conventional and trunking systems, providing significantly more architecture options for its customers. ATLAS P25 is the first and only system solution in the industry with the ability to combine conventional and trunking into one system, creating a "hybrid" that is completely tailored to a customer's unique environment.
"The EFJohnson ATLAS P25 System Solution uses an IP-based, fully distributed architecture. This allows it to easily scale from a single site to a state-wide network. Over its life, it's very easy to add sites or change configurations to keep up with the evolving needs of our customers," said Andrew Adams, president and CEO of EFJohnson.
"The fully distributed architecture eliminates the need for a central controller, which significantly increases system reliability and ensures our customers are able to successfully execute their mission-critical tasks," added Jim Cleveland, EFJohnson vice president of systems.
Using state-of-the-art technology, the ATLAS P25 System Solution is designed to address a variety of scenarios such as greenfield deployment, network migration from proprietary technologies or evolution from an analog to a digital P25 network. As a software-based system, ATLAS P25 allows for future system enhancements, such as P25 Phase II.
ATLAS P25 is designed to provide customers the most flexible, lowest cost of ownership solution in the industry. If you are attending the APCO International Conference and Expo, we invite you to booth #1113 to experience the future of LMR systems.
