Oklahoma Deputy Nominated for HAIX Hero of the Month
Turner pulled on his firefighter gear due to the extreme heat and jumped over downed power lines to pull the man out of the immediate danger zone. The man suffered injuries to his legs and could not walk. Turner said he wasn’t thinking about the danger at the time.

Wisconsin Officer Nominated for HAIX Hero of the Month
Winkler says he is still learning from Fischer's dedication to duty. "He definitely stands out to all of us firefighters for going above and beyond his call of duty. We had a hazmat call for a semi that slid down a road and tore its fuel tank open. Keith was the officer that responded. He helped us set up traffic cones, secure the perimeter, and direct traffic. He was not required to do any of this, especially in the freezing cold blizzard."

A 21-year veteran of law enforcement, Fiorentino is a martial arts expert who promotes health and education in the community. He volunteers to help fellow law enforcement officers, children, adults, and even seniors learn to defend themselves.

Goodson was chosen as HAIX Hero of the Month through the support of visitors to the POLICE Magazine Facebook page. As HAIX Hero of the Month for July, he will receive a pair of boots from HAIX.

Pennsylvania Police Chief Nominated for HAIX Hero of the Month
Chief Jerry Bellak was nominated by the mayor of the small Somerset County community. Indian Lake Borough Mayor Michael Miscoe wrote that Bellak, a 37-year law enforcement veteran, has transformed the police department since becoming chief two years ago.

Georgia Officer Nominated for HAIX Hero of the Month
A 10-year veteran of law enforcement, Officer Clay started her career as an Explorer. Today, she is one of the advisors for the Alpharetta DPS Explorer program. She is also involved with the department's iCan Bike program. Through the iCan Bike program she helps to teach 40 special needs children to ride bicycles.

The first nominee will be named Monday July 9. The second nominated officer will be named Monday July 16, and the third on Monday July 23. The HAIX Hero of the Month will be announced on Monday July 30.

Witzgall Named HAIX Hero of the Month
Former Dallas SWAT officer Michael Witzgall has been named HAIX Hero of the Month for April. Witzgall served with the Dallas Police Department until a serious injury led to his medical retirement and the amputation of his left leg.
