Kentucky State Police are working with the Ohio State Patrol to determine whether or not a fatal officer-involved shooting in Kentucky on Monday is connected with an ongoing kidnapping investigation in Ohio.
The shooting came after Kentucky police pursued a vehicle at high speeds for approximately 20 miles—through several counties—after someone called 911 saying there was a passenger in a vehicle in distress, and that a weapon may be involved.
Police in Ohio had previously alerted the public to be watchful for Skylar Williams, who was reportedly forced at gunpoint into a car by a man she knew, Ty'rell Pounds.
The two killed in the shooting have not yet been identified, but police confirm a man and a woman were killed.
KSP is handling the investigation.
