Protestors took to the streets of New Haven, CT, over the weekend to protest an officer-involved shooting earlier in the week that left a 22-year-old woman with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to NBC News, a Hamden officer and a Yale University officer opened fire on a car early Tuesday. An occupant of the vehicle—identified as Stephanie Washington—was treated for injuries not considered life-threatening.

The officers had responded to reports of a robbery at a gas station when they encountered a vehicle fitting the description of the one involved in the alleged robbery.

The protestors decried the shooting, saying it was racially motivated. However, both officers involved in the incident are black.
