A Port St. Lucie, FL, police officer died last week of a heart attack at an athletic camp.

Steven Brown, 40, suffered a fatal heart attack June 12 after completing his third day leading the Port St. Lucie Police Athletic League's Police Camp, a release from the Police Department said.

Brown collapsed after returning home at the end of his shift, TC Palm reports. He had served with the Port St. Lucie Police Department for 14 years. He is survived by his wife, Maria, and two children, Nicholas and Isabella.
