After witnessing a single mother crying outside a grocery store, a Boston Police officer decided to help her out.
Officer Ben Peguero had just finished his shift Tuesday night when he found 37-year-old and mom of three girls Jennifer Velazquez crying on the sidewalk.
âI heard a woman sitting by the curbside crying,â Peguero told Boston 25. âShe was checking out by the cashier with her groceries [when] her EBT card was declined. There werenât enough funds.â
âI felt bad for her, and I told her, âCome in with me, we will go in and grab some things,â" said Peguero.
Thanks to Peguero, the kids now have $200 worth of food and will stay well-fed during the quarantine.
