New Mexico State Police released dash-cam footage Monday of their pursuit of a stolen school bus earlier this month in which the PIT Maneuver was used to halt the chase.
A state police SUV eventually stopped the bus, which had been stolen from a bus yard by Nathaniel Shipman. Officers ended the pursuit before 7 a.m. on March 9 in Albequerque by forcing the bus into a median, reports KOAT .
The video captures Shipman barreling down Interstate 40 and with long strips of tire rubber ripping loose from at least two attempts by police to stop him with spike strips.
