The Scotland County (N.C.) Sheriff's Office received eight brand new, decal-laden patrol vehicles from a local Ford dealership earlier this month—but officials are saying they never purchased the vehicles, reports the Laurinburg Exchange .
The County Board of Commissioners has yet to vote on the purchase of seven vehicles (rather than eight). The cars came equipped with cameras and are financed at a much higher rate than the city thinks it can get, the news source stated. Officials will attempt to negotiate with the dealership for the vehicles.
